Welcome to ShaadiPrep.com
Congratulations, you’re getting married! The ring is on the finger and the feeling has finally sunk in, what next? Planning any wedding can be confusing and stressful, planning an Asian wedding? Well that can turn into one of the most complicated projects anyone could undertake! So make the process more organised and take control of your prep by following our steps:
1. Create your account on Shaadiprep.com. It’s the only website that gives you the tools to prep for all the events of your Asian wedding so you don’t have to worry about scraps of paper and spreadsheets and you can access and update your plans 24/7 – perfect for those "aha!" moments of inspiration.
2. Set a budget. Then add 10% contingency. That’s your real budget – so check it’s affordable. If someone else is helping with the wedding finance, check with them too. Use the budget planner on Shaadiprep.com to set and track your budget.
3. Decide on what functions you will be having and use the dashboard on Shaadiprep.com to plan these. Asian weddings range from one simple ceremony to weeklong (or even longer) celebrations. Decide what you want and involve close family in the discussions, but don’t involve everyone. This is your wedding so you choose what’s important for you.
4. Decide on who will be helping with the wedding plans and make sure they know what this will involve from the start. Everyone has busy lives so agree with them what they can help with.
5. Use the to-do list on Shaadiprep.com to make note of all the tasks you need to do. The easiest way to do this is to take one function at a time. Then make note of what you want for each function (eg music, décor, clothes) and then break each of these down into the steps you need to take to put this in place. Make note of every little step, no matter how small.
6. Put target dates next to each activity and make sure you are realistic. Give yourself enough time to get things done and also leave some contingency so you’re not panicking at the last minute.
7. If you are assigning tasks to friends and family, be clear what they are expected to do and by when.
8. Check your list weekly to make sure you are on track. Using our checklist, you can view and update this from any mobile device, tablet or PC so there’s no excuse not to keep on top! You can add to your list at anytime and tick off things as you go to see the progress you are making.
9. One of the things that can be the most contentious is the guest list. Set numbers early on as these will affect your venue and budget (catering, favours, invites etc.) and be firm. You will probably need to make your guest-list and then revisit a few times before you have a final version. Use the guest list manager on Shaadiprep.com to keep track of your list, invites sent and RSVPs.
10. Now you know what you have to do and work is in progress, take a deep breath, relax and look forward to your big day!
